It's our 1st Birthday !!
Join us for this very special Daydream Nation #7, celebrating a year of screenings and performances at The Rum Shack, Monday 12th May :)
Daydream Nation has been a celebration of short DIY filmmaking, music, and the amazing artists who do the work, so we are very excited to invite you all to celebrate our 1st birthday where we will share films from a new line up of artists–animators in the two part screening, followed by a headline set from Semispecific Ensemble with live visuals by Karolina and Jamie. We are also super happy to welcome DJ Fergus Clark to DN#7, selecting tunes across the evening.
It is particularly special for us to invite Semispecific Ensemble to the stage, and a wonderful way to mark our birthday! Lead by the incredible Charlie Knox (Practice Good Practice) who has been huge part of Daydream Nation from the start (involved in multiple performances, DJing, positive vibes, + more) and so we only had one band in mind for this night! We can't wait :)
The line up of films will be shown in two parts, with new and old works from a host of artists whom we have been fan favourites featured in Daydream Nation nights throughout the year. Theres also a few new names, highlighting some more amazing work which we haven't been able to fit in this past year! Artists include:
Sophie Koko Gate, Peter Millard, Stuart Hilton, Lamprini Loukaidi, Stuti Bansal, Diyala Muir, May Kindred-Boothby, Ross Hogg, Lilli Carré, Elena Duque, Ron MacCrae + Ivor Cutler, Tim Webb, Will Anderson, Edwin Rostron, Brian Smee, Isabelle Aspin, plus more TBA!
Tickets are £5, but no one will be turned away from lack of funds. If you can, please consider making a donation. All profits will got towards future events and paying our artists.
We want our events to be open and welcoming to all, so please be considerate and mindful of those around you. Sadly access is non step free, but we will always do our best to make sure our events are as accessible as possible.
Please be advised that sometimes events can get busy and needs are on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is still standing room for those who come a bit later.
