WSHWSH is back, this time collabing with Yemeni superstar Intibint, for her birthday fundraiser <3 with a line up of local SWANA DJs, a henna artist and toothgems from g41 !!

Message from Intibint -

"Hi it’s Noha!! Intibint. I wanted to tell you a bit about why we’re planning this party on the 26th of July. For a while now, I’ve been working on a big music project which is so close to being born but needs a little financial push. I’ve been exploring funding opportunities, but fear that due to the subject matter of my work, being very political, I may not be successful. For this reason, I was thinking of having a fundraiser party on my birthday to raise funds so I can finish the project. I am still going to submit an application for Creative Scotland and if I am successful, the funds from this night will go to a Yemeni charity. I will keep you all updated on this via my Instagram @Intibint.

Anyway, back to the story. I had the idea to ask the QT’s at WSHWSH if they wanted to collab on this party, and I was genuinely thrilled when they said yes!! WSHWSH is a community that means so much to me as an Arab living in Glasgow.

I’ve lived in Glasgow for 3 years, and after being here for a year, I started to feel very lonely and disconnected from my people. I couldn’t find my SWANA community here and didn’t know how to go about doing that. I remember going to the first WSHWSH party at Bonjour and feeling AT HOME. Every song took me back to some of my fondest memories, and I finally felt like I could find my place in Glasgow. I never stop going on about how much I love WSHWSH, but that’s because spaces that represent you and your community are an integral part of living anywhere! With that in mind, it’s an absolute dream to actually collaborate with WSHWSH on a whole party! I feel incredibly lucky and also so excited to shake the house down with Glasgow’s SWANA community and its allies on the 26th of July!!"
