we're back after the summer break !

Join us for Daydream Nation #8 at The Rum Shack, Monday 15th September

Daydream Nation #8 will be a selection of old and new film from the artists we know and love and ones we just recently discovered. Join us for a selection of unique short films made by people from all over the world in mindblowing colours and techniques.

Our 8th one brings you handmade films ranging from animated cyanotypes, sgraffito and animated woven textiles through hand-drawn and stop motion shorts. Plus a brand new cut out animation short from Peter Millard and a rare gem by Edwin Rostron from 2005 with recorded live score!

We have some experimental documentaries, from Edd Carr, Izzy Milenkovic and Miranda Peyton-Jones and also very surrealistic caleidoscopic non-narratives by Jake Fried, Taewan Kim and Rafaele Gans-Pfister. Very rare occasion to see these three authors on the big screen !

We're going to show the works from Loïc Kreyden and Jenny Jokela again but this time it will be their earlier works which play with theatre and impossible dialogues and twisted narratives.

Also we have some music-themed films: Karolina Glusiec's ones for Tara Cunningham's pieces and Ali Aschman's cut-out stop motion short for Thin Lear's "the Pilgrim" and some psychedelic animated ones from Julian Galesse and May Kindred-Boothby and dystopian cartoons from Dave Graham and a classic indie animation gem from Lianne Zannier.

Daydream Nation 8 will also include films made in solidarity with Gaza, made by Lizzy Hobbs and Rachel Bevan Baker and also a freshly completed film by Stanley Miller who's been actively involved in activist work towards raising awareness of the situation in Palestine.

Tunes this time will be played by our own Jamie Temple so get ready for the best guitar surprises you've not yet heard.

Live performance By Simone Antigone

visuals will be played by Karolina
